Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and sometimes stylized with the letters in uppercase as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through the label Decca Records in May 2015 and received a lot of praise from music bloggers and the media. The artist has already recorded two highly-profile cover songs Half the World Away by Oasis. Oasis for a Christmas advertisement from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry posted a video that she supported Runaway. It earned her some attention. Make it a special day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories involve finding a piano hidden in her attic then becoming enthralled by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes encouraged her to use music for development of her own, not as a way of earning money or for an interest. In order to do so, she began writing songs that were her own creations. She credits Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork as her main influences. Her mother was supportive of her performing her music in front of the public, but not to gain fame but rather to let others know that they matter and how they can make a difference for the world. She began playing the piano as her primary instrument at the age of six. She started creating music after turning nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she revealed her plans to her parents. It was never a dream to become Aurora. According to her, she enjoys writing songs. She believes music can make anyone feel better.
